“Offerings” a solo exhibition by Christina J. Hahn
February 7 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

The Museum of Asian Texans presents “Offerings” a solo exhibition by Christina J. Hahn, curated by Leili Arai Tavallaei.
Offerings is Hahn’s first solo exhibition in Dallas, presenting 3 new bodies of work: illuminated silk sculptures, silk reliefs, and expressive neo-folk paintings. Hahn wields fiber as a blade, interrogating the tender and violent nature of sacrifice. Gentle colors and small, unassuming organic forms invite the audience to draw closer, only to be kept at a distance by knifepoint.
Offerings is an intimate investigation of a new generation’s expected sacrifice for the sake of their “elders“ through the intersecting contexts of Confucianism and Christianity—examining the nuance between the Sacrifice and the Sacrificed.
From February 7th to March 1st, the Museum of Asian Texans offers a view into an sacred struggle between rage and devotion by Christina J. Hahn. Curated by Leili Arai Tavallaei
